Collage Street Artist

ARNSKII was born in Rostock, Germany in 1987 and is a naturally gifted street artist. His career started early, experimenting with graffiti, during his time growing up in Berlin. He expanded his art style to include collages and combines individual fragments, mostly snippets of posters, creating a totally new work of art.

ARNSKII loves the feeling that comes from his art, his incentive to tackle the next painting is completely intrinsic. In most cases, there is no really big story or profound statement behind his work, what counts for him is the artwork aesthetics and wanting to bring the energy and life of the streets to his paintings. His main concern in his collages has always been the closeness of the artwork to the real world. His work often consists of posters that he collects from the gloomy walls of German cities, such as Berlin or Hamburg. They give his paintings an offbeat and lively character and reflect real life urban situations. Street posters are often dirty, scratched and faded by the sun. This gives his work a special artistic nuance, as if his work lives on the streets. He believes art also gives you strength for other activities - both professional and private. He sees art as a kind of therapy that allows you to live in the moment.

He has a deep passion for Pop Art and believes that the most important feature of Pop Art is the idea that art can be borrowed from any source and that there is no hierarchy of culture. He recognised this particularly in the Berlin night scene, where he discovered the aesthetic of posters pasted on top of each other and covered with graffiti. By working with secondhand tools, his collages are given unique perspectives. In addition to using posters, he also works with spray and acrylic paints as well as stencils and marble powder to create structural paste and delves into screen printing which provides a good raw mixed media finish.

So why does Arnskii work as an artist? He answers 'As a child, everyone is an artist. The difficulty is to remain one as an adult'.
